Stephen Deming - Background
Partner Solution Advisor
Mid-Atlantic TS2 Presenter
Microsoft Across America
My background is in hardware design and engineering, but through my work that quickly progressed to software training. With almost thirty years of professional computer experience, I’ve spent many years working with businesses to identify and implement effective solutions.
In the seven years leading up to my joining Microsoft, I was the IT manager for a small business where I focused on Windows NT, 2000 and BackOffice training and had the opportunity to explore technology delivered training.
Since joining Microsoft over six years ago, I’ve worked with our seminar team helping customers and partners understand the benefits of our technology, where that technology is heading in the future, and how to take advantage of the available Microsoft partner programs. My passion is helping people understand technology better so they can make educated decisions. Let me help you too!

It’s All About the Restore! March 19 , 2008
(over $1,000 in prizes will be give away!)
Sponsored by BEI and Idealstor. The world of data backups has changed dramatically in the last couple of years:
- More business software applications are being supported on company networks resulting in more data to be stored, managed and archived
- Increasing amounts of data stored means more frequent backups and longer nightly backups
- Longer nightly backups start conflicting with other nightly operations such as antivirus updates (or simply employees working late!)
- New regulations and liability precedents have put pressure on proving that data can be recovered and quickly
- Doing more tasks electronically has created higher expectations for retention and restoration
This seminar will examine how to transition from antiquated tape backup to using storage arrays, removable hard disk appliances, backup software, and offsite storage. Learn how to:
- Dramatically reduce the time it takes to perform backups
- Access archived and current data more quickly
- Easily retain and access multiple versions of your data
- Store removable disks off site for archiving purposes
- Store server images for faster restoration in the event of server failure
- Replicate data to an offsite data center for recovery in the event of disaster
