Continuing from the previous session, we will focus on discussions and demonstrations showing how infrastructure management is simplified with the new Server Manager, Power Shell, and Core Server. We will talk about the technologies behind our virtualization strategy and network access protection. Finally, we will wrap up comparing and contrasting the various Windows Server 2008 editions so you can make the best choice for your organization.

My background is in hardware design and engineering, but through my work that quickly progressed to software training. With almost thirty years of professional computer experience, I’ve spent many years working with businesses to identify and implement effective solutions.

In the seven years leading up to my joining Microsoft, I was the IT manager for a small business where I focused on Windows NT, 2000 and BackOffice training and had the opportunity to explore technology delivered training.

Since joining Microsoft over six years ago, I’ve worked with our seminar team helping customers and partners understand the benefits of our technology, where that technology is heading in the future, and how to take advantage of the available Microsoft partner programs. • More business software applications are being supported on company networks resulting in more data to be stored, managed and archived
• Increasing amounts of data stored means more frequent backups and longer nightly backups
